Courtyard by Marriott Opens Two Grand Ballrooms in Marlborough, Mass.

After two years of renovations, the Boston Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott Hotel has unveiled two upgraded grand ballrooms in Marlborough, Mass., as well as five new breakout rooms for meetings and events.

"It is such a pretty space," Sandra Miller, director of sales for the hotel, told local newspaper the Community Advocate. "It provides a beautiful venue for any type of party."

Although the property previously conformed to Courtyard by Marriott standards, the hotel wanted to achieve a higher-end, more executive look, reports the Advocate. It therefore decided to transform its meeting facilities, which now include 8,000 square feet of meeting space, including the two grand ballrooms, one of which can accommodate up to 260 guests, the other up to 110.

In order to accommodate high-tech meetings, the hotel emphasized technology upgrades during the course of its meeting space renovations. Specifically, the hotel installed a wireless infrastructure that enables event attendees to access e-mail and Internet wirelessly via handhelds and laptops.

"In the planning of everything, we put a lot of emphasis on components like the bandwidth," Miller told the Advocate.

In addition to meeting space, the Courtyard has updated its 202 guestrooms and added a new cafe that serves breakfast and dinner.
