Construction Commences on Broadmoor Cottages in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The AAA Five-Diamond Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., has announced that it will open a complex of American-style cottages in May 2009. Construction on those cottages, the Broadmoor Cottages, has already begun, according to the hotel, which is marketing the new accommodations as ideal for family gatherings, spa retreats and golf outings, as well as executive board meetings and events.

Specifically, the Broadmoor Cottages—which will bring the Broadmoor's total accommodation space to 744—will include six buildings, including five eight-unit buildings and one four-unit building, each with 6,300 square feet per complex.

Cottages will range in size from having single-room suites to having eight full bedrooms, with 44 bedrooms collectively among them. Each, meanwhile, will feature high-beamed ceilings, wood accented chandeliers and wood floors, along with handcrafted area rugs, flat-screen televisions, natural stone fireplaces, and custom stone and ceramic baths with heated floors. Additionally, they'll have outdoor space with unobstructed views of the resort's golf course and nearby Cheyenne Mountain.
