Hornblower Cruises & Events in New York City is introducing a 16th century wooden replica tall ship -- El Galeón -- for groups to experience at Manhattan's Pier 15 from July 4 to 12. Aboard the 170-foot wooden ship, groups can relive the route of explorer Ponce de Leon, as well as explore the San Pelayo exhibition to gain insight into historic European sailing techniques and navigational technology.
The ship is available for daytime tours from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and there are options for evening private events as well. With a capacity of 225, the ship can also be used for meetings and teambuilding activities.
Hornblower is donating a portion of the ticket sales from El Galeón to New York City's South Street Seaport Museum and the New York Harbor School, both staple institutions that represent the best of the maritime industry and its links to New York Harbor.
