Chicago's Tasty Catering Named 'Best Place to Work'

Tasty Catering already is among the top corporate catering and event planning companies in Chicago. Now, it's also one of the top employers, according to Crain's Chicago Business, which recently named the suburban Chicago-based company to its 2012 list of the "Best Places to Work" in the Windy City.

Tasty Catering — which was founded in 1989 and has 150 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees — was ranked No. 2 on this year's list, up six spots from No. 8 in 2011. It was named to the list in large part because of its corporate culture, which prizes employee independence and autonomy.

"It's an honor to be recognized by Crain's Chicago Business," said Tasty Catering CEO Tom Walter. "Our dynamic company culture, created by our employees, is what sets us apart. Our culture allows employees to reach self-actualization or the peak of individual performance."

Added employee Jamie Pritscher, director of communications, "The culture allows everyone to know and lead their area of expertise. While I'm free to do what I want in my area, I know that I'm also responsible to my team and the company to ensure betterment of the company."

The Crain's "Best Place to Work" list is determined by the results of two surveys: one details hiring practices, benefits and pay while the other is given to company employees. The companies with the highest combined scores are named on the "Best Places to Work" list. For the full list, visit www.chicagobusiness.com.
