Its signature all-inclusive property — Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico — has completed a $22 million upgrade of its “Nizuc” section, Palace Resorts announced yesterday.
Along with Moon Grand and Sunrise, Nizuc is one of three sections at Moon Palace. Its renovation encompasses a redesigned lobby created by nightclub designer Francois Frossard; the addition of a new kids club, a new Irish pub restaurant and a new mini-golf course; renovation of the section’s 120 guest rooms; and refurbishment of the section’s swimming pool, gymnasium, ballroom and beauty salon.
The latest upgrades complement Moon Palace’s recent expansion of its meetings and events space, which now includes a 140,000-square-foot convention center known as Moon Palace Arena.
“As we begin 2014, the Palace Resorts family is eager to enter into Moon Palace’s next chapter and further our brand’s mission of taking our ‘awe-inclusive’ concept to new heights through exciting initiatives and additions, including the recent completion of Nizuc’s enhancement project,” Gibran Chapur, executive vice president of Palace Resorts, said in a statement. “Undeniably Cancún’s entertainment destination, Moon Palace is beloved by guests from around the world in large part due to our unprecedented offerings, sensational entertainment and the high quality of our products. We are pleased to continue to raise the bar and redefine the notion of what an all-inclusive experience can and should offer.”
