Diana Wheeler, director of community development for the northern Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta, Ga., has been named the new chairwoman of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle.Wheeler, who has served on the CVB's board for over nine years, is a member of the Georgia Planning Association Board of Directors, the Georgia Regional Leadership Institute and the American Planning Association. She was elected to a one-year term as chairwoman last month and replaces Rob Goodman, general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Alpharetta, who remains on the board."Although the hospitality industry is facing challenging times ahead, I look forward to working with the representatives of the hospitality industry and our hard-working Alpharetta CVB staff toward another successful year in Alpharetta," Wheeler said in a statement.
