The Boston Marriott Copley Place has completed a five-year, full renovation encompassing its guest rooms, meeting space, lobbies, restaurants and recreation areas, it announced last week.
Among the improvements:
• A complete redesign of all 1,100 guest rooms and 47 suites, including new lighting, artwork, wall coverings, window treatments and bath amenities, not to mention new technology, including 37-inch HDTVs, laptop safes and mini-refrigerators;
• A complete renovation of the hotel's 70,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 23,431-square-foot Grand Ballroom, which has been updated with custom-designed chandeliers, new digital lighting systems, new digital sound systems, and new fiber optic cabling for improved wired and wireless Internet access; the reconfigured 22,500-square-foot Back Bay Conference and Exhibit Hall, which can now be sub-divided into seven mid-sized meeting rooms; and three brand-new mid-sized meeting rooms;
• A "significantly" expanded concierge lounge, a relocated and reconfigured front desk area, a new restaurant, an expanded Starbucks coffee bar, a relocated business center and a redesigned Atrium Shop; and
• A new health club featuring a fitness center, a renovated pool and whirlpool, and renovated spa treatment rooms.
