Behind the Scenes on Broadway

There is no other avenue like New York City's Broadway -- it has the brightest of lights, the sharpest of colors, and the highest level of energy. When planning a meeting or incentive, a show in one of Broadway’s famed theaters is a must. For an even more unique experience, Broadway.com’s Broadway’s Classroom offers a selection of customizable workshops that bring the excitement of live Broadway theatre to teambuilding and skill development activities for groups.

A comprehensive selection of interactive programs are available. Options range from learning vocal techniques and character development from Broadway professionals to an immersion course in the art of stage presence, and foster fundamental group and corporate skills. Each experience further enhances Broadway’s hottest shows, which can directly relate to the workshop sessions. The most popular workshops for corporate groups include: "Musical Theatre Song & Movement," which focuses on music, choreography, and staging from a current Broadway musical; “Stage Combat,” which teaches the basic movements of simulated stage combat; and “Step by Step,” which teaches choreography from a current show.

“Costume Quick Change,” is a corporate teambuilding workshop led by Broadway dressers who help actors quickly change costumes during a performance. (Think pit crew for a NASCAR race.) In some shows, an actor can have as many as 20 costume changes. During the workshop, the group is broken into teams who help a designated “actor” change as they are being timed.

Broadway.com/Groups is also a leading source for group ticket purchases to Broadway shows.  For more information, go to www.broadwayclassroom.com or www.broadway.com/groups.
