The Emory Conference Center Hotel (ECCH) in Atlanta has completed work on a major expansion, it announced last week. The addition, a new five-story structure that connects by bridge to the existing hotel, features 127 new guest rooms and 6,000 square feet of new meeting space, not to mention a new six-lane bowling alley and a parking garage.
"The new expansion allows us to meet the needs of our larger conference groups, especially those with ties to Emory University, Emory Healthcare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," General Manager Kathy Johnson said in a statement. "ECCH guests will continue to enjoy our close proximity to Atlanta, while relaxing in a new and renovated space nestled deep in the woods."
Designed and built to be green, ECCH hopes to receive LEED-Silver certification for its new addition, which includes a new ballroom, boardroom and high-tech seminar room, as well as several outdoor patio areas.
Its new building gives ECCH a total of 325 guest rooms and a total of 32,000 square feet of meeting space.
