Atlanta's AmericasMart Opens New Meeting Space Inside New Building

AmericasMart, Georgia's burgeoning wholesale merchandise, gift and apparel marketplace, has opened a new 220,000-square-foot meeting facility in downtown Atlanta.

The facility, Building Two West Wing, includes four floors—each with a 55,000-square-foot exhibit hall for up to 280 booths—and gives Americas Mart a total of four standalone buildings with a combined 800,000 square feet of exhibit space.

"Building Two West Wing gives us the space and flexibility to meet the needs of a much wider range of conventions, tradeshows and groups that want the convenience and energy of meeting in the city of Atlanta," Brian Quirk, vice president of convention center sales, said in a statement. "The new space will be especially attractive to small and mid-size tradeshows and conventions that have outgrown hotel facilities and need a central, full-service venue."

Designed especially for tradeshows, Building Two West Wing includes features that will appeal to exhibitors and attendees alike, including a covered shuttle drop-off for guests, registration and coat-check areas, concession stands, private tradeshow offices and a state-of-the-art commercial catering kitchen. The fourth-floor exhibit hall, meanwhile, features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Centennial Olympic Park and can be divided with air-walls into up to 10 meeting rooms.

Building Two West Wing connects to its sister buildings via aerial walkways so that planners may combine and configure meeting rooms, exhibit halls and function areas from throughout the AmericasMart campus, which includes a 14-story Grand Atrium for up to 5,000 guests and a Penthouse Theatre for up to 800.

"We're inviting meeting and event planners who already know the advantages of meeting here to take a second look," Quirk continued. "We know they're going to be excited by the possibilities."
