Atlanta Marriott Marquis Completes $78 Million Renovation

Atlanta Marriott Marquis Guest Room

Georgia's largest hotel, the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, has completed a $78 million renovation encompassing its guest rooms, its public space, and its meeting space, the hotel announced this summer. The project follows a $138 million facelift that took place in 2008, which means the hotel has made over $216 million in capital investments in the last decade.

"We pride ourselves on being a business hotel that helps travelers feel creative, productive, and inspired," said General Manager Erica Qualls. "These new upgrades showcase the best of the new Marriott Hotels experience and allows us to give guests the amenities they need, enabling them to successfully pursue their business or leisure plans in Atlanta."

All 1,663 guest rooms and suites at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis have been updated with open closets, walk-in showers in place of bathtubs, multipurpose work surfaces, smart TVs streaming Netflix and Hulu, and new art installations. Additionally, two floors of guest rooms have been converted to "Stay Well" rooms; designed by Delos for guests who are interested in health and wellness, they include an air purification system, aromatherapy, circadian lighting, and vitamin C-infused showers.

Elsewhere, the hotel's concierge lounge has been updated with upgraded technology -- including additional outlets for plugging in electronics -- and enhanced food-and-beverage offerings, while the lobby has been refreshed with new furniture and a new layout.

Finally, the hotel has updated its 160,000 square feet of meeting space, updating its 61 meeting rooms with new carpeting and higher-bandwidth Internet.
