Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Opens Adjacent to GICC

A new hotel, the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, has opened in Atlanta with 403 guest rooms and over 21,000 square feet of meeting space, Marriott International announced last week.

Adjacent to the Georgia International Convention Center, and connected by SkyTrain to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the new hotel is on track to earn LEED silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, according to Marriott, which calls the new hotel an "eco and tech savvy meeting destination."

"We are so proud to introduce this state-of-the-art hotel to the Atlanta market as a shining example of our iconic Marriott Hotels brand," Marriott International Area Vice President Erika Alexander said in a statement. "Having had a major presence in the community for over 45 years, we recognize Atlanta as one of the most dynamic cities in the United States. This new Marriott hotel reflects the future of this vibrant community."

Together with the GICC, the new hotel offers 321,000 square feet of meeting space. Onsite, its venues include a 12,000-square-foot ballroom — the airport area's largest — as well as a virtual meetings studio that is the only one in the Atlanta area powered by Cisco TelePresence.

Other amenities include an onsite restaurant, a concierge level and lounge, a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and a 24-hour business center.
