A Mountain of Knowledge

Over 80 meeting planners trekked through the Swiss Alps to learn as much as possible about meetings in Switzerland

A. How many drinkable water fountains are in Switzerland?

B. What is the average age of the Swiss Air fleet?

C. How much does it cost to arrange same-day delivery for 80 pieces of luggage from Schaffhausen to Flims via train?

In early July, over 80 attendees of the Switzerland Meeting Trophy rally learned the answers to all of these questions while traveling from Zurich to St. Gallen to Flims and back again, with numerous stops in between.

The answers are:

A. There are 1,200 drinkable water fountains in Switzerland.

B. The average age of the Swiss Air fleet is 8.5 years old.

C. Amazingly, it only costs 200 Swiss Francs (roughly $212) to transport 80 pieces of luggage via train from point A to point B anywhere in Switzerland.

Of course there was much fun and great scenery to be enjoyed while they gathered information. How effective was it as marketing strategy to sell the destination to planners?
