Ground has been broken on a seven-acre complex in downtown Indianapolis that will feature four separate Marriott-brand hotels encompassing 1,623 guest rooms.The $425 million project’s anchor will be the 1,005-room JW Marriott Indianapolis. The 34-story hotel will be the city’s tallest hotel tower when it opens in March 2011. Located next to White River State Park, it will sport 105,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 40,000-square-foot ballroom.Opening in March 2010 are three smaller Marriott properties—the Indianapolis Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, with 294 rooms; Indianapolis Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Downtown, with 168 rooms; and the Indianapolis SpringHill Suites by Marriott, with 156 rooms. All four properties will be managed by Merrillville, Ind.-based White Lodging.“This is one of the largest Marriott developments in the country,” said J.W.
