The Top 10 U.S. Airports for Healthy Dining

airport food - 370

At the 30 busiest U.S. airports, 75 percent of restaurants offer at least one healthful plant-based entree. That finding comes from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), which looks at the percentage of airport restaurants offering entrees with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes. It turns out that health-conscious travelers are pretty lucky these days: when PCRM first conducted this research in 2001, only 57 percent of airport restaurants offered healthful entrees. Here are the top ten U.S. airports for healthy dining:

10. Dulles International Airport (80% of restaurants contain at least one healthful option)
9. San Francisco International Airport (82%)
8. Denver International Airport (83%)
7. LaGuardia Airport (84%)
6. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (84%)
5. Newark Liberty International Airport (86%)
4. Reagan National Airport
3. Los Angeles International Airport (88%)
2. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (90%)
1. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (92%)
