MEETING PACKAGE: Red Lion Hotels Gives Planners '100,000 Reasons to Meet'

Red Lion Hotels—which owns more than 50 properties in the western United States—is offering meeting planners the chance to earn 100,000 bonus points in its loyalty program, the Red Lion R&R Club, for meetings that are both booked and held before Dec. 30, 2008.

"Our success is a direct result of the support and efforts of each and every meeting planner," Mark Mahoney, vice president of sales, said in a statement. "We want to thank them for their business and provide them with an incentive to try some of our other hotels and conference centers in the network, including our newest locations. We feel that by providing them with Red Lion R&R Club points, they can provide their companies and clients with valuable meeting upgrades and amenities."

Red Lion's "100,000 Reasons to Meet" promotion enables meeting planners who are enrolled in the Red Lion R&R Club to earn up to 100,000 points based on the number of new meetings that they book:

* The first meeting is worth 10,000 points.
* The third meeting is worth an additional 15,000 points.
* The fifth meeting is worth another 25,000 points.
* Finally, the seventh meeting is worth an extra 50,000 points.

To take advantage of the promotion, planners—who will also earn three points for each eligible dollar spent during the day of their meeting—must have at least 10 guest rooms per night booked in conjunction with their meeting. They can redeem their Red Lion R&R Club points for travel and retail benefits, including spa services and room upgrades.
