Historic Lodge Builds New Conference Center

Currently open but undergoing a massive renovation, the historic Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center will have more meeting space, guestrooms and both a new restaurant and spa by year-end.

A new 45,000-square-foot conference center — 60 percent larger than its predecessor — will be the centerpiece of the meeting space additions. The original conference center was demolished to make room for the new one.

While the old center offered one 7,000-square-foot ballroom, the new facility will have two ballrooms of 7,000 and 12,000 square feet. The center's roster of function rooms, including ballrooms, will expand from 15 to 31.

The property also will have 130 new guestrooms, bringing its total up to 323. A 200-seat restaurant will serve regional fare.

Meanwhile, a new luxury spa located between the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center and the Williamsburg Inn will debut in November.
