Event technology company Cvent has formed a partnership with A/V supplier PSAV, which has agreed to resell Cvent’s CrowdCompass mobile app development platform to corporate meeting planners and hoteliers, it announced yesterday.

According to Cvent, PSAV — a national supplier to more than 1,000 events per day — chose CrowdCompass because of its “excellent technology, functionality and ease of use when creating highly configurable native apps.” Going forward, it said, CrowdCompass will be the company’s go-to offering for clients interested in deploying event-specific mobile apps.

“We believe there is an enormous opportunity for corporate meetings and event mobile apps,” Matthew Donegan-Ryan, Cvent’s director of mobile strategy, said in a statement. “This partnership with PSAV, which has an excellent reputation for providing superior event technology services, is validation of the market’s interest in mobile apps and an endorsement of CrowdCompass’ extensive features and capabilities.”

As part of its agreement with Cvent, PSAV has trained its employees to implement, configure and support CrowdCompass apps, and will therefore provide onsite support for clients that deploy CrowdCompass apps at their events.

“PSAV is committed to providing technology and tech support to amplify the effectiveness of meetings,” said Brent Rogers, PSAV’s vice president of digital services. “We have been impressed with Cvent’s technology and know that planners can be confident using the CrowdCompass mobile app development platform to create tailored apps that drive engagement and make meetings more effective.”
