The Atlanta area’s first Le Méridien hotel — Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter — has opened near downtown Atlanta in the city’s Perimeter Center business district, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced last week.

One of nine new Le Méridien hotels opening in the next 12 months, the property previously was the Atlanta Perimeter Hotel & Suites. Having undergone a 12-month, $20 million renovation, it now offers 275 guest rooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a 12th-floor club lounge, and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Additionally, a new onsite restaurant, Portico, will open this spring with a terrace for special events.

“The opening of Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter is a true milestone as we kick off a year marked by strong growth momentum for Le Méridien,” says Brian Povinelli, global brand leader, Le Méridien and Westin Hotels. “Since its acquisition by Starwood, Le Méridien has transformed under the company into a contemporary, design-led lifestyle brand, and we are proud to debut Le Méridien in the Southeast’s capital of business and culture.”

Like all Le Méridien hotels, Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter features a collection of large-scale artwork, a signature scent and soundtrack, and artist-designed key cards.

“The inspiring design featured throughout the spacious guest rooms and public areas, the newly created club lounge and the addition of a new restaurant with an expansive patio complete the transformation of this property,” says Jim Merkel, president and CEO of RockBridge, the property’s owner. “The rebranding coupled with the strength of the Starwood system, will position Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter as the premier hotel in the market. We are excited about adding this showcase property to our portfolio.”
