Meeting planners in search of kosher food and beverage need look no further than the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, which last week announced the opening of a kosher kitchen that will service banquets held within the hotel.

Serving a new menu provided by Danziger Catering, a local kosher catering company, the kitchen will offer a variety of custom options for attendees who live a kosher lifestyle. Courses available, for instance, include hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, including mini quiche and artichoke bottom topped with carrot and ginger mousse; buffet-style stations such as stir-fry, pasta and seafood; a soup bar with a choice of two hot soups; salad options such as sauteed wild mushrooms, pine nuts and balsamic vinaigrette; an array of entrees, such as chicken picatta, rack of lamb and penne with smoked chicken, Roma tomatoes, olives, grilled onion, spinach and basil; a children's menu; and a large variety of dessert options, including flourless chocolate cake and cappuccino mousse torte.

In addition to the kosher menu, the InterContinental Chicago and Danziger Catering are offering events rabbinical supervision to stay over Shabbat for an added fee.
