Looking to ease the pain of your next 4-hour layover? Departures has rounded up the 10 best airport lounges in the world. We've also included some stories to help you plan in each destination.

1. Virgin Atlantic JFK Clubhouse, New York
When this chic lounge debuted last year it was a welcome addition to the chaos of Kennedy Airport. It's decked out with a curved  red leather sofa and purple "mood" lighting. There's even a spa that features Dr. Hauschka products and treatments.

2. British Airways Concorde Room, Heathrow Airport, London
This cozy lounge features private "cabanas" with day beds and en-suite bathrooms. Those who don't want to catnap can enjoy free wine.

3. Etihad’s Diamond First Class Lounge, Abu Dhabi
This plush lounge has a little bit of everything -- fine dining, a cigar bar, a spa, and even nanny services.

4. Finnair Lounge, Helsinki
Finnair's trendy lounge is a showplace for Finnish design -- there's furniture by Isku Interior Oy, and the lighting by Eero Aarnio, tableware by Marimekko. The lounge also boasts its own sauna.

5. Lufthansa First Class Terminal, Frankfurt
This terminal is unique because it has a separate passport control and its own security checkpoints, allowing first class customers to skip the long lines.

6. The Pier, Hong Kong International Airport
Cathay Pacific’s glass-enclosed lounge features both a noodle bar and proper a fine dining restaurant.

7. Qantas First Lounge, Sydney
A 98-foot high, 8,400-plant vertical garden is the showpiece of this fabulous lounge. Don't miss the Payot Paris day spa treatment rooms.

8. Qatar Airways Premium Terminal, Doha
This massive lounge features a full-service Elemis spa, several restaurants, and private meeting rooms. If your layover is really long, you can even check in to one of its hotel-style bedroom suites.

9. Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounges, Singapore Changi International Airport
First-class passengers at this airport can go straight from the curb to an armchair in the first-class check-in lounge. The journey continues in the SilverKris Lounge, where travelers will find meeting rooms, restaurants and Italian-leather slumberettes.

10. Swiss Lounge, EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg
This tree-filled lounge was voted the world's best by Priority Pass. There's a full bar among the greenery, as well as recliners facing toward the lounge's panoramic windows.
