Convention and visitor bureaus are key partners for any meeting professional creating an event. But while those hosting a major convention or citywide gathering would lean on the local CVB for assistance in tasks like selecting venues, creating security plans and tapping into local resources, planners putting together smaller gatherings might overlook the benefits that such a partnership offers.

The fact is, most CVBs and destination marketing organizations have their own dedicated small-meetings departments, charged with attending to the specific needs of smaller groups. The benefits of doing so are among the topics of Northstar Meetings Group's next webcast: The Small-Meetings Guide to Working With CVBs/DMOs

From accessing exclusive venues for off-site events to ensuring attendees feel welcome and don't get lost in the bustle of a major city, there are many ways that CVBs can prove powerful partners in making an event succeed, whatever the size. Taking place Thursday, June 6, at 2 p.m. ET, the webcast, sponsored by the Oklahoma City CVB, will feature a pair of expert meeting planners offering actionable tips about the benefits of working with a destination bureau. The speakers are:
