During the Cold War, Dennis Brouwer used the concept of deconstruction to enable a U.S. aircraft carrier to locate an "unfindable" Russian submarine in the north Arabian Sea. After his military career, he employed those same principles in business to beat significantly larger and better-funded competitors on his way to creating a $300 million global services company.

Brouwer, care of Goodman Speakers, will be the keynote speaker at Northstar Meetings Group's Destination Caribbean event, being held at the SLS Baha Mar in the Bahamas Sept. 12-15.

Some the takeaways attendees will gather from his session include:
-How highly effective teams see the world and their place in it.
-How to master the engagement, brainstorming and improvisation techniques used by high-performing teams.
-Five rules of thumb designed to guide the team as it coalesces around breakthrough thinking.
-The secrets to discovering new patterns of thought and communications which make innovation and creative teaming habitual in elite organizations.
-How teams use "flow" --the psychological state of optimum productivity -- to break new ground and sidestep disruption.
