Voting for the Stella Awards opened on Monday, June 19th and more than 1,000 votes were cast by business event professionals within the first 36 hours, letting the industry know which partners have helped them deliver the best meetings and event experiences for their attendees.

"We know from our research that planners value and trust the opinions of their peers. What better way for planners to say 'thank you' to suppliers who have helped them pull off a flawless affair than to spread the word to their fellow business event professionals. Voting for their preferred suppliers in the Stella Awards telegraphs to others that a site or service was exceptional; it's the stamp of planner approval. We anticipate that event professionals will turn to the Stella winners, chosen by planners and for planners, for their future meeting needs," said Lori Cioffi, Senior Vice President and Director of Content for the Northstar Meetings Group.

The Stella Awards consolidate Meetings & Conventions' Gold Awards and Successful Meetings' Pinnacle Awards into a new, comprehensive program in which finalists are established via online voting.

Eligible organizations include hotels, convention centers, conference centers, airlines, cruise lines, DMO/CVBs, and DMCs vying for honors in 18 categories and 6 regions which celebrate overall excellence, superb food & beverage, professionalism of staff, technology innovations, and other critical aspects of the meetings and event experience. Finalists in each category will be determined by industry professionals during an open voting period, and Stella Award winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges overseen by the content team of Northstar Meetings Group's leading brands, Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings.

The Stella Awards (#TheStellaAwards) are open for public voting until July 24, 2017.
