Northstar Travel Group Acquires AXUS, Leading Travel Planning App
Northstar Travel Group, which owns Successful Meetings, has acquired AXUS Travel App, the preeminent itinerary management software for travel advisers and tour operators.
Founded in 2014, AXUS automates the creation of trip proposals and itineraries for travel managers and seamlessly delivers all booking confirmations and custom travel details to the traveler through a unique URL and dynamic mobile app.
The cutting-edge platform streamlines the way travel advisers and tour operators communicate with clients from the initial planning process all the way through the in-destination experience, leveraging integrations with major wholesalers and back-end systems, parsing engines, and multi-party collaboration.
Key features of AXUS currently include flight notifications, driving directions, destination guides, the ability to generate PDF itineraries, access to supporting documents, and in-app messaging -- all accessible to travelers anytime from anywhere.
"The addition of the AXUS planning tool and mobile application is an important strategic enhancement to our suite of subscription workflow and content tools for travel professionals," said Thomas Kemp, CEO and chairman of Northstar.
"This ideal union with Northstar combines the resources of a large, diverse and highly respected travel heavyweight with the agility, customer intimacy and industry insight which have made AXUS the itinerary management app of choice for travel planners," said Julia Douglas, founder and CEO of AXUS. "Together, we look forward to bringing our valued customers an even richer feature set, broader integrations and deeper content to further elevate their offerings."
Julia Douglas and her team will continue with AXUS as it becomes part of Northstar, working with Sheila Rice, vice president of Northstar's Information Products Group.
"We are excited about working with Julia and her team to provide a one-stop solution to our customers with travel42 and the AXUS planning tool and itinerary app," said Rice.
