Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has awarded its prestigious Certification in Meeting Management (CMM) professional designation to 42 new recipients, it announced last week.
Among the meeting industry's highest credentials, the CMM is awarded to meeting professionals with at least 10 years of industry experience who demonstrate exceptional strategic decision-making abilities and meeting management skills that they use to drive business results through meetings and events.
In order to receive a CMM designation, meeting professionals must attend a five-and-a-half-day CMM certification program that blends a traditional educational framework with a hands-on, interactive setting. The five-and-a-half-day onsite program — the most recent of which took place at the Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda Resort in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
— is one step in a four-step process that also includes application and acceptance, pre-reading assignments, and measurement of success via an examination and strategic business plan project.
