The third edition of IMEX America is on track to feature more hosted buyers, more exhibiting companies and more new exhibitors in 2013 than in 2012, its organizers announced this week.

Taking place Oct. 15-17 in Las Vegas, this year’s IMEX America trade show will take place in new exhibit halls at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Completed recently as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation of the 1.2-milllion-square-foot facility, they’re well-timed to accommodate the show’s growth, according to IMEX Group Chairman Ray Bloom.

“The renovations at the Sands are truly fantastic. We saw the architect images last year and were impressed with the plans; but the reality is even better. It feels like a totally new venue and is now truly state-of-the-art,” Bloom said in a statement. “It has also opened up a number of new meeting spaces that we can utilize, plus a new business center and café areas. Importantly, the larger halls give us the space we need to expand and allow more exhibiting companies from all over the globe to take part and to do the business they need to do.”

To date, one-third of all contracts received by IMEX America for 2013 have included increased booth space, according to show organizers. Of those, a third have increased the size of their booths by 50 percent or more.

Among the exhibitors that will have larger booths this year are: Canada, Dominican Republic, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Hawaii, Hyatt Hotels, Orlando/Orange County, New Orleans, Panama, San Francisco, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and Texas. Meanwhile, new exhibitors at this year’s show include: Atlanta CVB, Cirque du Soleil, Long Beach Area CVB, Louisville CVB, Le Reve, The Host Group, Mohonk Mountain House, Worldhotels, Viceroy Hotel Group and Visit Milwaukee.
