This year's IBTM America -- the trade show's first edition since re-branding itself from AIBTM last June -- will feature the theme "Connections Mean Everything," organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced yesterday.

In support of the theme, the show's opening day -- formerly known as "Education Day," now known as "Discovery Day" -- will feature a theme-appropriate keynote session sponsored by the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).

Other show highlights include a breakout session on tools for planner productivity, titled "Big Data Part 1"; a session on "Audiovisual Technologies and Adult Learning in Meetings," led by speaker Michael Owen from EventGenuity LLC; a session on "Way Cool Tech Tools," courtesy of presenter James Spellos; a day-two keynote on business productivity from best-selling author Debbie Mayo-Smith; an "Inspiration Lunch" keynote by the Meetings Mean Business Coalition; and the "ConnectZone," which is a hybrid of last year's Innovation and Refresh Zones featuring spaces dedicated to trends in innovation, technology, wellness, and career advancement.

"Our focus this year for the ConnectZone is twofold: We want our attendees to feel productive, even during their appointment breaks, but to also have fun and relax," said IBTM America's event director, Jaime McAuley. "The ConnectZone allows for learning about the most recent technology innovations, and gives people a chance to better their wellness and productivity. We'll have experts on hand in a variety of topics to teach planners and exhibitors about emerging trends and techniques they can apply not only to their personal, but their professional lives as well."

IBTM America takes place from June 9-11, 2015, in Chicago. For more information, visit www.ibtmamerica.com.
