The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has chosen Roger Dow and Howard Feiertag as its 2013 Adrian Awards Lifetime Achievement winners, it announced last week.

Dow, who is president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, is the recipient of the Albert E. Koehl Award for advertising and marketing. According to HSMAI, he was chosen "because of his extensive and lasting contributions to increase travel to and within the United States."

Feiertag, meanwhile, is the recipient of the Winthrop W. Grice Award for public relations excellence. A faculty member in the department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va., he was chosen "due to his outstanding dedication to his work and to the education of future hospitality professionals throughout the past 30 years."

"Roger Dow and Howard Feiertag have shown extraordinary motivation and creativity within their fields," said HSMAI President and CEO Robert A. Gilbert. "HSMAI is proud to honor these individuals for their dedication to the industry throughout their careers, and we look forward to seeing how their achievements inspire the industry leaders of tomorrow."

Both Dow and Feiertag will be presented with their awards during HSMAI's annual Adrian Awards Gala, taking place in New York on Jan. 28, 2013.
