To help companies find the best vendors for their strategic meetings management program (SMMP), the GBTA Foundation — the education and research arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) — has published a new "RFP Guide to Strategic Meetings Management," it announced yesterday.

Designed to work in conjunction with GBTA's Strategic Meetings Management Maturity Index, which helps companies measure their SMMP progress, the guide — free to GBTA members — includes a standard set of topics about which companies should ask vendors when soliciting an SMMP bid. The topics also can be used internally to guide SMMP communication, development or expansion.

"Strategic meetings management programs are a proven way for companies to make the most of their investment in meetings," GBTA Foundation Executive Director Daphne Bryant said in a statement. "This RFP tool will serve as a step-by-step guide for planners to improve their meetings programs and evaluate the vendors that will best match their company's goals, needs and budgets."
