The European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) exhibition will remain in Barcelona through at least 2016 and will continue to be hosted in the Fira Gran Via, organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced yesterday.
"EIBTM has become synonymous with Barcelona since we brought the show here in 2004," said EIBTM Exhibition Director Graeme Barnett. "As one of the world's leading tourist centers with influences in commerce, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science, the arts and sport, Barcelona is the ideal city for meetings, events, conferences and in our case, EIBTM."
Added Joan Gaspart, president of the Barcelona Tourisme Convention Bureau, "Barcelona as a European city has a lot of promise for the future. Both in terms of the meetings industry and the tourism industry, as many have discovered the potential of the Catalan's capital. Our continued involvement with EIBTM helps us to reinforce our assessment."
EIBTM 2012 is taking place Nov. 27-29. Next year's show, meanwhile, is Nov. 19-21. For more information, visit www.eibtm.com
