The Americas Incentive, Business Travel & Meeting Expo (AIBTM) has announced a new name and format during the final day of the 2014 show in Orlando. The show will now be known as IBTM America and will be a one-to-one appointment show which will be invitation-only for both exhibitors and buyers.

The new experience will be more intimate than the current traditional trade show model, which drew 1,200 buyers and 508 exhibitors to Orlando this year. Next year's IBTM America event, which will be held in Chicago, will host 250 buyers and make booths available to 250 exhibitors. The buyer breakdown will be 80 percent domestic and 20 percent international.

"This new model will be turnkey for the exhibitor, offering one package price, with no additional moving in costs," said Sallie Coventry, IBTM Portfolio Director at Reed Travel Exhibitions. "For buyers the change will mean mutual matches with exhibitors they really want to see rather than the dictated appointments of our previous model."
