Event management software company etouches has acquired TapCrowd, a maker of mobile apps for corporate and association events, it announced this week.
Established in 2010, Belgium-based TapCrowd streamlines the app creation and publication process for event organizers, and has a strong focus on data analytics and ROI. Acquiring it, etouches said, will help etouches customers enhance attendee engagement and networking at events, increase event-planning productivity, and generate and manage data analytics across events.

As part of the acquisition, the TapCrowd team -- including its two co-founders, Brecht Fourneau and Miquel Vermeulen -- will join etouches, which is based in Norwalk, CT.

"Our customers expressed a growing demand for integrated solutions that can innovate and deliver for their events," said etouches CEO Oni Chukwu. "The acquisition of TapCrowd adds a very important nugget in our drive to provide the most innovative and comprehensive solution available in the market to our customers. I am personally delighted that this acquisition also brings with it a tight-knit, innovative, and tech savvy team of 16 technologists, with strong domain knowledge, to join us to further extend our burgeoning leadership in the event technology space."

Added Niko Nelissen, CEO of TapCrowd, who will become vice president of mobile, engagement, and data for etouches, "We are very proud of etouches' stellar reputation and market momentum, and are excited to join this strong team to bring our innovative technology to the global market. Our deep integration with etouches' enterprise event management platform will offer clients a seamless experience, combining a state-of-the-art event mobile experience with unprecedented marketing, social, and data opportunities to promote and monetize their events."
