The Meetings Mean Business campaign — re-launched this year to promote the economic benefits of meetings and events — has launched a new industry-wide mobile app, it announced yesterday.

Available in both the Apple iTunes Store and the Android Google Play Store, the app provides quick, on-the-go access to campaign materials — including collateral, data points and industry news — so that meeting professionals can access them when they need them. For example, during a meeting with a client or a chance encounter with a legislator.

“It’s critically important that our industry continues to speak with one voice to communicate the value and benefits of meetings to communities, businesses and the economy,” David Peckinpaugh, president of Maritz Travel and co-chair of Meetings Mean Business, said in a statement. “The MMB app is another significant tool to ensure that everyone, across the industry, can access important campaign materials at a moment’s notice. The app allows us to always be singing from the same song sheet.”
