The Meetings Show UK has selected event technology company DoubleDutch to develop the mobile app for its inaugural event, taking place July 9-11 in London, organizer Centaur Exhibitions announced last week.

A new event for the inbound and outbound U.K. meetings industry, the Meetings Show UK is expected to attract more than 5,000 visitors, including 1,500 hosted buyers from across the United Kingdom and Europe. Its app will guide those visitors around the event, help them view their online diary and interact with other attendees.

“Technology is an important part of any trade show. With this in mind we wanted to appoint a partner who would help us connect with our visitors across multiple platforms. DoubleDutch has vast experience in producing apps which deliver advanced content, and they’ll help visitors to The Meetings Show UK use their smartphones and tablets to fully engage with all the events taking place and make the most out of their time,” says The Meeting Show UK Event Director Steve Knight: “Visitors should be free to get the best possible experience from their attendance at The Meetings Show UK. The app will allow our visitors, which will include 1,500 hosted buyers attending 13,500 appointments, to keep on top of their individual diaries and manage their own personal blend of exhibitor meetings, networking and education sessions.”
