Event technology company DoubleDutch has added a new feature to its branded mobile applications, it announced this week: From within a DoubleDutch branded trade show app, exhibitors can now scan badges and instantly collect sales leads.
“DoubleDutch is already bringing event marketing out of the data dark ages by analyzing attendee behavior to help organizers better understand what is and is not working at their events,” DoubleDutch founder and CEO Lawrence Coburn said in a statement. “With our new mobile lead-scanning software, we bring the same data approach to the exhibitor experience as we do to the event organizers, further illuminating ROI for event attendance and participation.”

DoubleDutch brands itself as the only event app provider that creates an app with a “focused social network.” Using its branded event apps, trade show attendees can check-in, post comments, bookmark items and create personalized agendas, which according to DoubleDutch creates a “digital trail of attendee interests” that exhibitors can use to better understand their sales leads. Adding lead scanning functionality further enriches that capability, the company claims, by allowing exhibitors to access it in real time upon scanning attendees’ badges.
