Beginning in January 2015, all 47 million members of its Marriott Rewards loyalty program will receive free Wi-Fi at more than 3,800 Marriott hotels, Marriott International announced last week.

"Marriott Rewards members asked for free Wi-Fi, and we answered," said Stephanie Linnartz, executive vice president and chief marketing and commercial officer, Marriott International. "Free Wi-Fi is a meaningful way to reward our most loyal customers and continue to attract next-gen travelers."

Marriott already offers free Wi-Fi to guests of its EDITION, Moxy, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, and Marriott Vacation Club brands. The new offering will extend that for Marriott Rewards members to the following additional brands: Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Gaylord Hotels, Autograph Collection, AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments, and The Ritz-Carlton.

To receive free Wi-Fi, Marriott Rewards members must book their stay directly through Marriott via its website, mobile app, or toll-free phone number.
