In an effort to help planners make wellness more central to their events, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has launched a new global initiative, Mindful Meetings by Mandarin Oriental. The program offers a wide range of enhancements to meeting programs, targeting five areas of mental and physical health that might otherwise be overlooked in the activity of an event or conference: nourishment, movement, stillness, connections, and wellbeing.

Among the amenities that will be rolled out at Mandarin properties are more "healthy and energizing" menu choices for groups, yoga sessions, guided meditations, massage and movement breaks, and custom spa events. Visitors will also be offered tips on everything from digital wellness to managing jet lag, while Mandarin Oriental properties will host experts to hold health talks or facilitate group exercise activities. These offerings, available at all Mandarin Oriental properties, can be customized depending on the group and available inside meeting rooms or out.

"Mandarin Oriental is renowned as a leader in global wellness, with more Forbes Five-Star Spas than any other hotel brand," said Emily Snyder, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's vice president of global sales, in a statement. "By extending and utilizing this expertise in the meeting space, we can provide participants with a truly enhanced environment, that is conducive to success."

To celebrate the program's launch, the brand is running a Mindful Meetings Promotion for every new event or group booking made at a Mandarin Oriental property between June 6 and Sept. 30, 2018. Those booking the meeting will get one of three healthy amenities included in their event package for free: Energizer welcome shots for all participants when they arrive; a 30-minute guided wellness session -- such as meditation or yoga - in the meeting space; or a mindful in-room amenity for all attendees.

Snyder added that, "Our aim is to support meeting planners by providing a unique offering, that will ensure all participants leave a Mindful Meeting feeling refreshed, motivated and ready to implement new ideas, information and connections."
