The 391-room Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai
, set on Palm Jumeirah
, the world's largest man-made island and archipelago, is set to open tomorrow, Nov. 29. Just a short drive from many of Dubai's attractions, the Emerald Palace is set on a private beach on the Arabian Gulf.
Inspired by the palaces of 18th-century Europe, the hotel will feature discreet service, refined dining and curated experiences. "We are all very proud to be celebrating the opening of Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai, as part of our growing portfolio of iconic and luxurious hotels in the Middle East and Africa region," said Henk Meyknecht, COO of the Middle East and Africa
for Kempinski Hotels
. "This beachfront, palatial resort property confirms our commitment to serving to the top segment of a growing luxury hospitality market. We remain committed to the vision of Dubai as one of the most innovative tourism destinations in the Middle East."
The eight restaurants and bars will include Mix by Alain Ducasse
, the first restaurant in the United Arab Emirates for the three-Michelin-starred chef. Also on site will be Blüthner Hall, with its High Tea Collection, presenting five experiences inspired by iconic 18th-century classical composers; and an al fresco dining spot on the sixth-floor rooftop with views of Dubai's skyline. The gastronomic journey continues with European inspired, all-day dining at Le Jardin; the stylish Pan-Asian steakhouse Matagi; the Italian-oriented All'onda, developed in partnership with the chef Chris Jaeckle; the Mediterranean restaurant Villamoré; the relaxed pool and beach bar Sablanc; and the nightclub/ lounge/live-music venue, Skorpeus, which opens on Dec. 10.
In addition, the hotel sports some 6,400 chandeliers and hand-painted, 24-carat gold-leaf detailing with handcrafted motifs, classical friezes and a jewel-toned color palette that adds to the overall neoclassical ambience. Five Palladian domes comprise the distinct silhouette of the property, while eight marble columns in the grand atrium are pieced together using pink Portuguese marble.
"We are delighted to welcome our first guests at Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai," said Sébastien Mariette
, managing director, Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai and Kempinski Hotel and Residences Palm Jumeirah. "The Palace is a magnificent architectural masterpiece that brings European craftsmanship to the Middle East through its design and unique guest experiences, characterized by a product of the highest caliber. Every single detail was carefully handcrafted; exquisite materials were meticulously selected from the best producers across Europe."
The property's Cinq Mondes spa has 23 treatment rooms, two private spa suites and the city's largest indoor pool. Among the water sports and recreational activities offered are paddle boarding and scuba diving.
Groups will have access to approximately 23,000 square feet of event space, including the 2,000-square-foot Grand Salon Maximilian ballroom, which accommodates up to 1,500 guests.
