Meeting news is plentiful in the Arizona capital, where the downtown is walkable and the Phoenix Convention Center has 4,000 nearby guest rooms for planners to fill. The city's largest property, the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, is wrapping up a head-to-toe renovation, and the hotel closest to the convention facility, the Hyatt Regency Downtown, has gone through a similar revamp.
Recent Additions to Phoenix
Renovations to the 10 gates in the North Concourse of Terminal 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport have been completed. Five additional carriers now call the terminal home: Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Boutique Air, Contour Airlines and United Airlines.
A propertywide project has been completed at the 693-room Hyatt Regency Downtown, the closest hotel to the Phoenix Convention Center.
The multimillion-dollar upgrade redesigned the guest rooms, revamped the 35 meeting rooms, and refreshed the property's seven-story atrium, rooftop courtyard and more. The property offers four new meeting rooms, bringing the total event space to 50,000 square feet. Now open is a new indoor-outdoor restaurant called Barrel & Bushel, a gastropub-style eatery that seats up to 200 people. The menu features American comfort food that can be supplemented with signature craft cocktails.
Also finished with a face lift is the Marriott Phoenix Airport. Its recent multimillion dollar renovation tackled the lobby and meeting spaces. The property's 24,000 square feet of versatile function space now has new amenities and décor, ranging from upgrades in carpeting and lighting to digital signage and new sound systems. The work also added new guest rooms to bring the total to 346.
