Most people choose hotels based on factors such as location, cost and service level. For fitness enthusiasts and wellness travelers, however, one of the most important decision points when selecting a hotel is its gym: Does it have one? How big is it? And what kind of equipment does it offer?

With that in mind, hotels across the country and around the world are investing significant time and money into adding and upgrading fitness centers. A few, however, are going even further by incorporating wellness directly into their guest rooms.

One such hotel is Viceroy Hotel Group's Hotel Zetta. Located in San Francisco's thriving SoMa district, it launched five wellness-themed rooms -- called Well + Away Rooms -- last year and has just upgraded them with a new amenity, it announced last month: Peloton bikes.

Curated by Well + Away, which produces city guides for wellness travelers, Hotel Zetta's Well + Away Rooms feature environmentally-friendly Casper mattresses and pillows, locally-sourced linens, Dyson hot and cool air purifiers, Muse meditation headbands and cushions, and Method non-toxic cleaning products, not to mention healthy minibars called "VitalBars," which feature complimentary nutritious snacks such as Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers, Navitas Organic Superfood + Bars and Justin's Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cups.

The addition of Peloton bikes -- stationary bikes that stream live indoor cycling classes on an HD multi-touch screen -- rounds out the Well + Away experience by giving guests the means to exercise without leaving their guest room.

"The new in-room Peloton bikes really fit with Hotel Zetta's mission to offer guests the most innovative health and tech-oriented experiences on the market today," said General Manager Mark Beevor. "We want our guests to feel like they can stay on track with their wellness plan when traveling, so they don't feel guilty enjoying all the restaurants that our delicious city has to offer.
