Texas is now home to a new Hilton hotel brand. Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown officially opened its doors on July 9, introducing the Canopy lifestyle hotel brand to the state, along with new F&B and meetings offerings. The 150-room property -- located in Dallas' Uptown district in the middle of more than 100 shops, restaurants and entertainment venues -- includes 3,500 square feet of meeting space with views of the Dallas skyline.
"We are honored to open the doors of Canopy's inaugural Texas property," said Alan Naul of The Javelin Group, the Dallas-based owner and developer of the property, in a statement. "We look forward to providing out-of-town guests and locals alike a destination where they can get a true sense of local living in Dallas."

The property's décor draws on the district's history, with vintage bricks from nearby McKinney Avenue and a refurbished piece of the M-Line Trolley. It offers a pair of food and beverage options: The Canopy Central Café, serving European-style breakfast as well as all-day lunch and dinner menus featuring flatbreads and open-faced sandwiches; and the rooftop bar and lounge Upside West Village, serving up craft cocktails and local brews along with a selection of fine wines.

The property also offers programs shared across all Canopy by Hilton properties, a brand which aims to serve as a "thoughtful extension of its neighborhood" as Hilton calls it. This includes the dog-friendly Paws in the Neighborhood initiative, which provides a welcome gift for both visiting dogs and a pastry for their owner from the local Bisous Bisous bakery. Local experts, or "Canopy Enthusiasts," are also on hand for local recommendations and tips. The property will also host complimentary craft beer tastings in its Canopy Central lobby each evening, with rotating selections from nearby Deep Ellum Brewering Co., Community Beer Co. and Lakewood Brewing Co.

"We chose Dallas' Uptown district for our first Texas property and fourth in the U.S. because of the vibrant, historic and community-focused neighborhood," said Gary Steffen, global head of Canopy by Hilton, in a statement. "The proximity to endless dining, shopping and entertainment options will position Canopy as a natural and convenient choice for Dallas visitors."
