Visit Napa Valley has named Linsey Simpson Gallagher as its new president. She joins the California wine-growing region's marketing organization after serving as the vice president of international marketing at the California Wine Institute. In her new role, Gallagher will work alongside Clay Gregory, CEO of the organization.
"Linsey joins us after 10 years in a senior leadership position at the California Wine Institute, and has strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners, including Visit California and the Napa Valley Vintners," said Gregory. "I am confident that Linsey will be an excellent leader for our team as we enter into a new decade strategically promoting the Napa Valley as one of the world's premier destinations and positioning tourism as a long-term community partner."
In her previous role at the Wine Institute, with which she served beginning in 2008, Gallagher was instrumental in helping the facility expand into new markets, including China, Canada, the U.K .and Mexico. Prior to that, she served a two-year stint as vice president of regional development at a real estate development office, and before that a marketing strategy position at E. & J. Gallo Winery and a role as the manager of finance for NBC's Today Show.
"I look forward to promoting and protecting this beautiful valley by acting as a steward of the Napa Valley brand, and am honored that Clay and the board of directors have entrusted me with this opportunity," Gallagher said. She will assume her new position on Feb. 4.
