Groups looking for warm weather and white-sand beaches have no shortage of options to choose from in Florida. Those who are also looking for a free and easy state of mind, however, will want to put a new property on their shortlist: the forthcoming Margaritaville Resort in Fort Myers Beach, which is scheduled to open in 2021.
Located on 7 acres of beachfront property in Fort Myers' Times Square district, the new resort will have 254 guest rooms with private balconies, many of which will offer views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffet, the hotel also will have a spa, a retail store, a 5,000-square-foot glass-enclosed ballroom and several food-and-beverage outlets: a LandShark Beach Club with a 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill; a beachside LandShark Bar & Grill; a Coconut Telegraph Coffee Shop; a beachside JWB Bar and Grill with a glass-enclosed, air-conditioned dining room; and an elevated, 22,000-square-foot License to Chill Terrace where there will be lush landscaping, a three-meal-a-day restaurant, a fire pit, outdoor island games and hammocks.

"The Times Square section of Fort Myers is known for its great food, entertainment and fun -- attributes that are synonymous with Margaritaville," said Margaritaville CEO John Cohlan. "With our signature lifestyle built on relaxation, escapism and good times -- and [developer] TPI Hospitality's solid experience in new resort developments -- we feel we have a perfect partnership in place.  We look forward to working together with TPI to add a new depth to this area, while seamlessly enhancing all of the character that already exists."
