When you think of corporate meetings, event space and destination planning, Wilmington may not be the first city to come to mind. But with a vibrant riverfront, a district on the National Register of Historic Places, beautiful beaches and ample meeting facilities, this North Carolina city is just waiting to be discovered by more groups.

Wilmington Event Venues

The city's convention district, anchored by the 107,000-square-foot Wilmington Convention Center, has seen $426.1 million in investments in the past five years. Among the facility's spaces are a 30,000-square-foot exhibit hall and a 12,000-square-foot ballroom. 

The district also is home to the new 186-room Embassy Suites Wilmington Riverfront Hotel, which features:

Construction is underway on the 125-room Aloft Coastline Hotel on the Cape Fear River, which will be within easy walking distance of the convention center. The property's grand opening is scheduled for mid-2020. For meetings, plans call for a 7,000-square-foot ballroom, as well as 3,000 square feet of additional space in the adjacent 100-year-old Coastline Conference & Event Center, which is being renovated as part of the project.
