Atlanta continues to be one of the nation's most popular meeting destinations. To make sure it stays that way, the city's third-largest hotel, the 1,249-room Hilton Atlanta, has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas, all of which have been updated with meeting groups in mind, it announced yesterday.

In honor of the property's history, the hotel, which dates back to the 1970s, now features subtle, modern takes on 1970s décor, such as brass fixtures and bold patterns in its guest rooms.

The updates groups will most appreciate, however, are those on the second floor, which now houses two ballrooms and 23 breakout rooms on a single level. One of the ballrooms, the Grand Salon, has been reconfigured to feature 22 feet of additional ceiling height and pillarless infrastructure. The redesigned Galleria Exhibit Hall, meanwhile, has been redesigned to provide additional breakouts and meeting spaces.

"The renovation speaks to the increase in demand for more dynamic meetings space and sleek, cutting-edge design," said Michael Fletcher, the hotel's director of sales and marketing. "The Grand Salon's soaring ceiling height paired with the Galleria's breakout space allows multiple groups to conduct business in the hotel."

Elsewhere, the hotel unveiled a new lobby-level lounge catering to business travelers (pictured); a private check-in desk for large groups; a re-located 24-hour Marketplace Café; and new libation-focused private event programming -- such as Mai Tai mixology classes and vodka tastings -- at its onsite restaurants, the tiki-themed Trader Vic's and French-Russian-inspired Nikolai's Roof.

"The fresh look reflects Atlanta's quintessential charm and showcases the hotel's commitment to growing business in the downtown community," said General Manager Brad Koeneman. "We're confident the increased function space and bandwidth to host larger groups will appeal to both new and existing clientele."
