A new Embassy Suites hotel in Knoxville, Tenn., celebrated its "topping out" during a special ceremony on Oct. 26, the property's owner and manager, Kana Hotel Group, announced last week. The hotel — the Knoxville area's first new full-service hotel in 25 years — is scheduled to open in April 2013.

"We're pleased to partner with Kana Hotel Group on bringing Embassy Suites to Knoxville as its flagship property and excited to see the project reach this mark in its construction," said John Rogers, global head of Embassy Suites Hotels. "We're looking forward to when the hotel opens its doors next year and joins the growing portfolio of Embassy Suites hotels across the country."

The new hotel, Embassy Suites Knoxville West, will have 140 guest suites, complimentary business and fitness centers, and over 9,000 square feet of meeting space.

"We are well on the road to bringing an Embassy Suites Hotel that offers great features that guests know and love to the Knoxville region," said Kana Hotel Group CEO Alpesh Patel. "This hotel is truly going to be a showpiece for the Knoxville area."
