Kalahari Resorts has committed to a "multi-million dollar renovation and development of various onsite amenities" at its properties in Ohio and Wisconsin, it announced last week.

At the Kalahari Resorts Convention Center in Sandusky, Ohio, the company already has opened a new bar and grill, and plans to make further improvements in the form of restaurant upgrades and new guest room amenities. Meanwhile, at its Wisconsin Dells resort the company is adding to its indoor/outdoor water park a 1,050-square-foot swim-up bar and a 920-square-foot whirlpool for up to 100 people.

Complementing the property upgrades is a redesigned website,, the first phase of which debuted in October with improved navigation, the ability to share site content on social media and an enhanced visual gallery with images of the company's latest rides and attractions.

"Our business relies heavily on consumer convenience and accessibility, so we wanted to redesign the site to be more interactive and incorporate technologies to engage visitors in a new and exciting way," said Kalahari Resorts spokesperson Travis Nelson. "We reduced the clutter and created a space that provides pertinent customer information without having to search through a sea of pages — it ultimately makes the online reservation process quicker and easier."
