A celebrity chef-inspired hotel is coming to Chicago's trendy West Loop neighborhood, courtesy of Nobu Hospitality, the company behind Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's trendy chain of Japanese restaurants.
Owned in partnership with actor Robert De Niro, movie producer Meir Teper, and Australian businessman James Packer, the company already owns hotels in Las Vegas
and the Philippines, and has other properties under development in London, Miami, Malibu, Bahrain, Los Cabos, and Saudi Arabia.
Scheduled to open in late 2017 on Chicago's Restaurant Row, its Chicago hotel broke ground this week. It will feature 103 guest rooms, a 10,000-square-foot Nobu restaurant, a 3,000-square-foot multi-use suite available for private meetings and events, an indoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, and a rooftop indoor/outdoor bar and lounge.
"We are extremely pleased to begin development of the Nobu Hotel Chicago as the West Loop neighborhood is not only a culinary epicenter for renowned restaurants and chefs, but also a highly desired destination for national and international travelers seeking world-class, enriching experiences," said Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality. "We're excited to introduce Nobu Hotel to Chicago and embrace the vibrant energy of the city."Up your meetings-industry IQ. Check out the latest edition of 30 Seconds to Smart!
