This time of year, Canada is getting cold. For Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, however, the country is heating up: Wyndham's collection of independent three- and four-star hotels, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, has just added 12 Canadian properties to its ranks.
The additions -- which include five open hotels and resorts and seven recently signed properties across six provinces -- bring the Trademark Collection's total portfolio to more than 100 hotels and resorts in five countries.

"This global momentum is a testament to Trademark's mounting appeal as one of the most compelling soft-branded offerings for independent hoteliers across the globe," said Greg Giordano, vice president, brand operations, Trademark Collection by Wyndham.

Launched in 2017, Trademark Collection is Wyndham's first soft brand and the hospitality industry's first soft brand that's inclusive of upper-midscale hotels. The brand, Wyndham says, is geared toward "three- and four-star hotel owners passionate about upholding their hotels' independent spirit" and properties designed for "everyday travelers seeking distinctive, attainable accommodations in sought-after destinations."

The collection's first Canadian properties include: Georgian Bay Hotel & Conference Centre (pictured) in Collingwood, Ont., which offers 94 guest rooms and 9,400 square feet of meeting space 90 minutes north of Toronto, and The Plaza Hotel in Kamloops, B.C., which offers 67 guest rooms in downtown Kamloops, some 200 miles east of Whistler and Vancouver.

New hotels that will soon be flying the Trademark flag, meanwhile, include three properties opening by the end of this year in eastern Canada -- Chateau Bedford in Halifax, N.S.; Chateau Moncton in Moncton, N.B.; and Chateau Saint John in Saint John, N.B. -- as well as four new properties opening next year in western Canada.

Concluded Giordano, "These recent landmark additions, located in some of Canada's most coveted travel spots, underscore what it means to be a Trademark hotel -- unmatched character, charm and individuality. These hotels are now backed by the global distribution power of a leading hospitality name in Wyndham, and a team passionate about driving more travelers through entrepreneurial hoteliers' doors every day."
